To combat the growing epidemic of childhood obesity in the Washington, DC area the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Redskins players and coaches “Play 60”or encourage youth to get 60 minutes of physical activity each day.  Redskins Youth Fitness Zones, 1st Down for Fitness, What Moves U and other fitness and nutrition focused youth programming have been implemented to accomplish this goal.



In partnership with the United Way of America, GlaxoSmithKline and other corporate and community partners Redskins Youth Fitness Zones, which use the HOPSports Training System, have been installed at the Prince George’s County Sports and Learning Complex and at targeted Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and select local schools.  To find out more about how the Redskins “Play 60,” visit www.redskins.com/community.
