Benjamin Armstrong - VP Sales

As the VP of Sales for HOPSports, Benjamin’s main function and focus is to create as many opportunities as possible to share the experience of HOPSports and encourage the implementation of the HOPSports Training System to proactively improve the overall health of the Nation through physical activity, education and 21st century technology. The principal focus is geared towards the youth of today who will ultimately become the leaders of this great Nation tomorrow.

Before joining HOPSports, Benjamin served as the Education Sales Manager for Polar Electro. Leading a team of highly qualified and health conscious professionals to help implement Heart Rate Monitor technology into School curriculums to help gather data that would be a driving force for future curriculum decisions.

As a native of New Zealand, Benjamin traveled to the United States after graduation with the goal of gaining International hospitality experience. Rather than returning home to the South Island, he continued along his path of executive hospitality management working exclusively in four and five star properties in destination locations such as Santa Fe NM and Park City UT.

A change in direction towards environmental stewardship took Benjamin to the inland passageways of South East Alaska, the Bay of San Francisco, the Windy Columbia River Gorge and exploring the Sea of Cortez and the Baja Peninsula when he joined the crew of the MV Sealion and MV Seabird with Special Expeditions Marine. Their journeys followed the migratory path of the great Grey Whales. (Notably, Grey whales do not travel the Columbia river)

In 1997 after his time with Special Expeditions Marine, Benjamin settled in Washington State to become a Financial Consultant with Salomon Smith Barney. His time in the Financial Services industry culminated in Spokane where he provided financial services through the Spokane Federal Credit Union to its members and two affiliated institutions.

In 2002 Benjamin returned to his Hospitality roots once again in Santa Fe New Mexico leading a team in the luxury Hospitality destination market as the Director of Catering and Conference services for Santa Fe’s largest 4 Star Hotel.

Benjamin now calls Albuquerque home where he lives with his wife of seven years, Sheli and their beautiful four-year-old daughter Addison. It was Addison’s pending arrival that prompted Benjamin to become part of the solution to overcoming the terrible reality afflicting youth in America today.

It was simply unacceptable that any child born of this generation should have for the first time in history, a life expectancy less than that of their parents. Benjamin has made it his mission to do all that he can to reverse this trend and rebuild a resilient and optimistic future for America’s youth by improving the health of the Nation through physical activity, education and 21st century technology.
